ALICE HOSPITALITY

the project:

ALICE is where my love for UX/UI was nurtured and developed. As the Product Design Intern, I worked with the Design team to learn and practice User Research methods, and experience UX/UI design processes firsthand within a rapidly expanding company. The internship allowed me to experience the joys of my work being deployed, and shipped.

I worked on three projects during my time at ALICE:

  1. Building a Sass Library for the Platform

  2. Designing & Developing Loading Animations

  3. Creating External Platform Webpages

my role:

Product Design Intern

Methods:

User Interviews, Design Standardization, Prototype Engineering

Tools:

CSS/Sass, HTML, Javascript, Sketch, Invision

Sass Library for Alice:

I learned about the importance of style guides, design standards, and clean code for products when scaling beyond the MVP.

As the product and the dev team grew, multiple colors, button types, border-radiuses, font sizes, etc. started manifesting themselves into unwieldy stylesheets.

LoadING ANIMATION:

As a rapidly scaling product, load times for the platform was a large concern for the UX and Engineering team.

Implementing loading animations was one solution that was prioritized to address the challenge.
